Calcium mineral intake and lactose intolerance – The Nation

It may occur as being a primary disorder, secondary to other intestinal diseases or it may be congenital within rare cases.
Generally lactose restricted diet is followed within suspected individuals, and avoiding dairy & milk containing products can result in dietary calcium intake that is beneath recommended levels: 1g/day for adults plus adolescents.
The perceived major health risk associated with lactose intolerance consists of osteoporosis, fractures due to weak our bones and colonic carcinoma.
Principal lactose intolerance could be treated by chemical replacement with lactase, probiotics and in case of secondary ailments by antibiotics.
On the other hand it could become managed by using pre-hydrolyzed lactose milk, consuming fermented dairy products, ingesting whole milk with other foods, taking small amounts associated with milk in snacks so that digestive tract could adapt the lactose present in daily food.

Genetic counseling is a new concept in Pakistan and this arena of genetics should be commonly introduced designed for masses at local levels, so the genetic mutations prevailing in many family members could be diagnosed and proper treatments could be provided.
